Committee for Personnel Exchanges between Japan and Russia

HaRP has two committees, including Committee for Personnel Exchanges between Japan and Russia. The Committee is run to achieve the following three objectives:

  • Supporting student exchanges to develop human resources who can help expand and develop exchanges between Japanese and Russian universities
  • Studying changes to educational systems to allow credit transfer and degree conferment between Japanese and Russian universities
  • Promoting exchanges between Japanese and Russian universities in coordination with the Association of Institutions of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Japan

To achieve these objectives, the Committee engages in the following activities:

  1. (1)Sharing and promotion of Good Practice know-how about student exchanges between Japan and Russia
  2. (2)Promotion of joint graduate and other professional education programs
  3. (3)Comparative studies of credit transfer and degree conferment systems between universities
  4. (4)Support for the Japan-Russia Student Association

The Committee reports its activities at the General Assembly of the Association of Institutions of Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Japan, which is held every 18 months. The Committee’s goal is to submit proposals for the future of higher education systems in Japan and Russia to the governments of both countries when this project is completed five years from now.
