This section promotes Japan-Russia exchange in the field of humanities, particularly Japan-Russia collaboration projects related to language, culture, and tourism.
When the Association of Japanese and Russian Universities agreed to establish specialized sections, 7 sections for projects aimed at human resource development were proposed corresponding to 7 fields specified the Plan of Economic Cooperation between Japan and the Russian Federation: Healthcare, Urban development, Exchanges between small and medium-sized businesses, Energy development, Promotion of industry diversification, and Promotion of the industrial development of the Russian Far East. Recently, in addition to these 7 sections, the Association decided to establish another section dedicated to promoting and cultivating human resources via projects related to language, culture, and tourism in order to promote mutual understanding between future specialists who will be in charge of Japan-Russia cooperation projects and create the environment beneficial to their professional growth, and to provide support for the projects of the aforementioned specialized sections.
This section is mainly comprised of projects in the field of humanities between Japanese and Russian universities. Information and expertise on educational programs from the participants will be collected, shared and transmitted via this section. Furthermore, the section endeavors to promote the establishment of regional consortiums with the support of Japanese government bodies and private companies.
