From September 23 to 28, 2019, the Second Russia-Japan Student Forum was held with the participation of 57 students from member universities of the Association of Japanese and Russian Universities (30 from Japanese universities and 27 from Russian universities).
The Russia-Japan Student Forum is one of the activities of the Japan-Russia Student Union, whose establishment was approved at the last year’s General Assembly Meeting of the Association of Japanese and Russian Universities. After presentations by student representatives at the General Assembly Meeting of the Association of Japanese and Russian Universities on September 23, discussions and presentations on different topics, lectures by Minister Toshio Yamamoto of the Japanese Embassy to Russia and teachers of Japanese and Russian universities, and excursions were conducted. Russian and Japanese students made new friends while staying under the same roof over a week.
It is hoped that the Japan-Russia Student Union will conduct further activities preparing for the next Japan-Russia Student Forum to be held in Niigata 18 months later.
